In 1946, Jimmy Applebaum, a young man filled with the optimism of the time, decides that his hometown of Fair Oaks, Indiana is too small to satisfy his dreams and sets off to find his fortune in the big city of Chicago. Soon, however, Jimmy finds himself in-over-his-head when he meets Nick D'Angelo who convinces a naive Jimmy to join his Association Of Investment Counselors, a secret front for Nick's gambling operation. Though Nick tries to "pin the rap" on him, Jimmy helps catch the gangsters, becomes a pioneer in television and, of course, gets the girl. But which one? Mary Rand, the girl he left behind in Fair Oaks, or Evie Starling, the exciting and seductive gangster's moll who befriends him in Chicago? With characters and songs in the American musical theatre tradition, this funny and touching musical will have you humming along while reminding you to "do it for The Thrill Of It All!”
