A Rich Legacy of Performing Arts
At Landmark Community Theatre (LCT), we’re more than just a non-profit arts group—we’re the heartbeat of live theater in Thomaston, Connecticut. Proudly incorporated in the state and recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization, we’re here to keep the historic Thomaston Opera House buzzing with unforgettable performances that have earned us a reputation as a regional gem.
Our Mission
Landmark Community Theatre offers opportunities where the community may produce, participate in and enjoy the performing arts; seeks to educate all ages in theater and music; and strives to preserve and protect the Opera House as a historic landmark and community space.

The History of the Thomaston Opera House
The Thomaston Opera house was built in 1884 and serves as a cultural and recreational center for the town and surrounding communities. It is a point of pride for area residents and the many people who participate in its productions each year.
This theatre has succeeded due to the countless hard-working and talented volunteers and their relentless dedication to this facility and the arts. Together we have maintained the type of programming our audiences have come to expect. Still, we are continuing work to restore this historic facility and improve its technical capabilities. But we need your help!
The continued success of this theatre will again depend on many people working together. With your financial support, the Thomaston Opera House will continue to grow and thrive. We will continue to produce high-quality entertainment and educational programming and you will help us to improve, update and restore our historic facility. Some of the projects currently under construction are carpeting, drapes, new restrooms, technical upgrades and the continued restoration of the Arts Center.
The Thomaston Opera House is a non-profit organization operating under the 501 (c) 3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. Your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law. All donors to the Thomaston Opera House Annual Fund will be listed in our season program and updated on a show by show basis.
