LCT will be holding auditions for its Spring production, GODSPELL (2012 revival) on the 11th and 12th of February on the MAIN STAGE of the Thomaston Opera House. Ed Bassett will direct this play with David Irvine as Music Director and Michael Calabrese as stage manager. The show will open for weekend performances on Saturday, April 21st and run through May 6th 2018 for a total of 8 weekend performances.

Auditioners must bring sheet music with them and be prepared to sing 32 bars (about a minute) of a fully memorized musical theater song showcasing the style and vocal range of the character for which they are auditioning. Songs from GODSPELL are allowed. Additional vocalizing may also be a part of the audition to determine vocal range and harmonizing skills. Accompaniment is provided; no recorded accompaniment is accepted. Video auditions are not accepted. Auditioners should dress comfortably and be prepared to dance.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. As production time nears, rehearsal time will increase. Also, in case of inclement weather and cancelled rehearsals, please expect to have rescheduled times.

About the Play: At the behest of John the Baptist a group of men and women take up the mantel of Jesus Christ becoming his disciples in this musical retelling of the Gospel of Matthew. Using song and dance, the apostles spread Christ’s message of love and tolerance as the time moves ever closer to his betrayal at the hands of Judas and, ultimately, his crucifixion.

Character Breakdown: All roles are available and casting is open. Newcomers are welcome and encouraged. We are casting an ensemble of 10. Additional pit singers will be casted as well. Main characters are Jesus and John the Baptist. Performers of all ages and ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition.
